What to Know For Your First Visit

We want you to feel comfortable and informed before you arrive. Here's everything you need to know about getting started with care at White Phoenix Wellness.

Your Path to Your First Appointment

01

Book Your Appointment

Schedule your initial consultation online through our booking system. New patient visits are 90 minutes, giving us plenty of time for a thorough assessment and your first treatment.

02

Complete Your Intake Forms

You'll receive intake forms via email after booking. Please complete them before your visit. This includes your health history, current medications, and what brings you in. The more detail you provide, the better we can prepare for your first session.

03

Your First Visit

We'll review your health history in detail, perform a Chinese medicine assessment (including pulse and tongue diagnosis), discuss your goals, and begin your first treatment. You'll leave with a clear understanding of your treatment plan.

04

Follow-Up Care

Based on your initial assessment, we'll recommend a treatment frequency. Typically 1–2 visits per week to start, tapering as you improve. Each follow-up visit is 60 minutes.

Before Your Visit

Eating & Drinking

Eat a light meal 1–2 hours before your appointment. Avoid coming on an empty stomach or immediately after a heavy meal. Stay hydrated, but avoid alcohol and excessive caffeine on treatment days.

What to Wear

Wear loose, comfortable clothing that can be easily rolled up above your elbows and knees. Avoid tight jeans or restrictive garments. We also have covers available if needed.

What to Bring

Bring a list of current medications and supplements, any relevant lab work or imaging results, and your completed intake forms if you haven't submitted them online.

Insurance & Payment

We are out of network for all major insurance plans that cover acupuncture. Some patients get reimbursement with a superbill which we are happy to provide for you.

Payment is due at the time of service.

Accepted Payment Methods

Cash, credit/debit cards, HSA/FSA cards

Acupuncture is often covered by HSA and FSA accounts. Check with your plan administrator for details.
